Meet the PHIU Team
We are a small multidisciplinary team of population health analysts, data scientists, and visualization specialists, embedded in Bedford Borough Council’s Public Health department. We come from varied backgrounds with a range of experience across public health and beyond and routinely collaborate on projects to ensure they benefit from everyone’s skills and knowledge.
Vicki Peacey – Consultant in Public Health
Vicki leads the PHIU. She has a strong data analysis and insight background, with various jobs at the ONS, academia, the voluntary sector, and then the regional Department of Health before joining the public health specialty training programme in the East of England. She previously worked as a public health consultant for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, but moved to this role in BLMK for the opportunity to work with richer data sources for the benefit of healthcare systems, users, and residents. She is passionate about using her knowledge of public and population health approaches alongside her team’s impressive data and analytical skills to find new insights to identify problems and opportunities, and to improve care and population health. She enjoys asking difficult but important questions and then finding a solid answer from data, and sharing findings with colleagues and the public alike.
Suresh Perisetla – Population Health Analytics Lead
Suresh is responsible for delivering strategic analytics and intelligence to support evidence-based commissioning, with a focus on reducing health inequalities, shaping system-wide strategic priorities, and ensuring robust information governance, data access, research commissioning, and the effective translation of evidence into practice. He has 15+ years of experience in healthcare, public health, and population health analytics, specialising in service planning, systems designing, developing and delivering analytics solutions that improve health of our population and reduce health inequalities.
Chris Lamb – Population Health Analyst
I turn health and other data into clear information that helps people to understand the needs of populations. My work allows population health managers to make informed, data-driven decisions about services and support. I write computer code to automate the collection of data and carry out statistical analysis which makes the work more efficient and reliable. I enjoy this role because the work is interesting and directly relevant to people’s everyday lives. A key focus of our work is identifying and tackling inequalities in health, so we can try to improve lives in groups where health is poorer.
Jago Kitcat – Population Health Analyst
I have over 15 years’ experience helping deliver public health analysis across the local authorities and NHS settings. I have led and contributed to a wide range of complex projects including life expectancy for those with learning difficulties and severe mental illness, ketamine harm review, and deaf patients use of preventative healthcare. This is to support evidence-based decision-making across the health system. My work focuses on maximising the impact of population health in order to improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
Katy Hillman – Project Support Officer
My role is focused on planning and administration to keep everything organised and running well. Before joining the PHIU I worked in wildlife conservation, most recently with the RSPB, and worked with a variety of data producing reports for internal and external stakeholders, including DEFRA and other government departments, but my main focus is interpersonal and planning skills. I am currently undertaking a Level 3 Data Insights Apprenticeship.
